A Compliment

This post is part of a random daily blog series I am writing throughout January.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: I really enjoy working with kids. There’s this art that has to go into keeping their attention while delivering the message. As much as sometimes I wish they’d just be quiet and listen, I appreciate how kids create their own worlds and rules for play, and how they don’t think much about getting hurt. Kids are wild.

Yesterday I got to coach the middle school lift at Victory. I was kind of corralling the crazy and offering instruction when one of the kids looked up at me and said, “you’d make a really good gym teacher.”

It was sooo heartwarming. Starting a foundations kids class has been on my heart lately, and that felt like a little nudge.
