Great change is an accumulation of choices

Great change, improvement, achievement, love—it’s all an accumulation of choices we make as we move forward. It’s the compounding effect of following the process/pattern you built for achieving whatever it is you wanted in the first place.

AND, maybe (likely) that great improvement isn’t even about reaching the outcome you built a process around achieving. Maybe you find life through the effort. Life through the change that comes about because of the hunt.

I often best understand life through the application of effort in sport, commitment to an outcome and achieving, getting hurt and overcoming, falling short and staying on the path, running up against adversity, taking a step back and coming back again.

It’s the same for whatever we want: to be more mindful, loving, to hit big lifts—you’ll wake up one day and be there if you build a system and an environment that’s conducive to consistently becoming more aligned with it.
